Absolute Introduces Microsoft SCCM Automated Repair Functionality
Vancouver, Canada: March 22, 2016 – Absolute® (TSX: ABT), the industry standard for persistent endpoint security and data risk management solutions, today introduced new security functionality that automatically repairs the Microsoft® System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) client installed on an endpoint, should it require attention.
Absolute customers rely on Microsoft SCCM to manage the deployment and security of endpoints, including the ability to patch software applications, a fundamental requirement to protect an organization from malware exploits. If the SCCM client requires attention on an endpoint, Absolute will trigger an automatic repair function to ensure IT can continue managing the device.
“As mobility continues to expand beyond traditional enterprise networks, the challenge of maintaining visibility and control over these devices will increase,” said Christopher Bolin, Chief Product Officer, Absolute. “SCCM repair functionality is another step in our ongoing strategy to extend corporate visibility across all devices and users.”
The perceived value in monitoring and repairing SCCM clients was evident in the rapid adoption by customers that participated in the beta program, with over a million devices activated during the enrolment period.
“Absolute allows us to validate the status of our SCCM client components and ensure everything is functioning optimally,” stated beta participant Michael Riggs, Vice President and Information Security Officer, Interbank1. “In scenarios where the client requires attention, we can focus on that endpoint and fix the situation remotely, maintaining control over the device. With a highly mobile workforce, this on and off network capability is an imperative.”
“We have seen up to one quarter of endpoint agents inaccessible in deployments of this capability with our customers,” added Mr. Bolin. “This oversight allows our customers to monitor and respond to changes in SCCM as well as adjacent security layers so they can proactively respond to risk. This type of complete visibility is a requirement for the strongest security posture and incident response.”
Availability
SCCM repair is available today through the latest Absolute DDS update.
