August 27, 2015

Vancouver, Canada: August 27, 2015Absolute® Software Corporation (TSX: ABT), the industry standard for persistent endpoint security and data risk management solutions, today announced the release of a new offering to specifically serve its healthcare customers. Absolute DDS (formerly Absolute Computrace®) for Healthcare includes added support that helps customers determine healthcare compliance and regulatory exposure in the event of a security incident.

Absolute DDS for Healthcare is an expanded offering of the company’s core security solution, developed to fulfill the highest levels of endpoint security, forensic support, and regulatory response for healthcare companies. Absolute DDS for Healthcare entitles access to Healthcare Endpoint Investigations delivered by certified Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioners (HCISPP) and Certified Protection Professionals (CPP).

"The adoption of enterprise mobility has had a tremendous and positive impact on the healthcare industry,” said Geoff Haydon, chief executive officer, Absolute. “With valuable input from some of our largest customers, Absolute DDS for Healthcare was developed to deliver greater support through each phase of a security incident. By identifying and containing potential security risks, as well as navigating regulatory compliance responsibilities, our healthcare customers can advance the benefits of mobility, providing improved and immediate services to their patients and the community.”

This industry-specific solution provides healthcare institutions with:

  • A comprehensive onboarding program delivered by certified Absolute healthcare data security specialists
  • A designated expert from the experienced Absolute Investigations team to lead the response efforts in the event of a security incident
  • Remediation workflows where the Absolute Investigations team walk through the steps of a security incident to ensure the risk of a compromised device has been contained
  • Forensic analysis reports provided at the end of an investigation as well as an interim report, if necessary, to comply with any federal, state or local timing requirements

Absolute DDS for Healthcare relies on patented Persistence® technology by Absolute. Persistence is embedded into the core of most endpoint devices at the factory. Once activated, it delivers a reliable two-way connection to confidently manage mobility, investigate potential threats, and take action if a security incident occurs.
