Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
Vancouver, Canada: June 17, 2014 – Absolute® Software Corporation (TSX: ABT), the industry standard for persistent endpoint security and management solutions for computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Niche quadrant of the Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) Software Magic Quadrant (formerly the Mobile Device Management Software Magic Quadrant).*
This is the second year Absolute Software has been included in this Magic Quadrant. Absolute Software is also positioned in the Visionaries quadrant of the Gartner, Inc. Client Management Tools Magic Quadrant** and the Niche quadrant of the Content-Aware Data Loss Prevention Magic Quadrant***.
Absolute Software’s EMM solution, Absolute Manage®, allows customers to remotely manage and secure all the mobile devices in their deployments including Android, iOS, and Windows® Phone devices. But unlike other vendors, Absolute Manage extends management capabilities to include PC and Mac computers, providing customers with the ability to manage all of their devices within a single console.
These cross-platform capabilities include mobile application management, secure content distribution and automated workflows for the enrollment of employee-owned devices – as well as full client management for Windows and Mac devices as featured in the Gartner, Inc. Client Management Tools Magic Quadrant.
The EMM market is evolving rapidly. CIOs want to leverage mobility to better run, grow and transform their organizations but they are not willing to support multiple technologies and consoles to do so. Absolute Manage allows customers to provide consistent security and management across all devices, regardless of form factor or operating system.
“We are pleased to see Absolute Software place for the second time in the Enterprise Mobility Management Magic Quadrant,” said Errol Olsen, Interim CEO at Absolute Software. “We work closely with our customers to deliver the unified IT experience they require so they can manage all of their corporately-owned and BYOD devices from a single console.”
For inclusion in the June 3, 2014 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Mobility Management Software, vendor solutions were considered based on the following criteria: at least $8 million in 2013 EMM revenue, 1,500 EMM customers, 500,000 EMM licenses in customer environments, five references using the EMM product in production, mobile device support (MDM) support for at least three mobile OSs (i.e., iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8, BlackBerry), the EMM product must be able to manage policies and control data sharing for mobile applications and the EMM product must provide a device resident container to store and manage content.
