Absolute Earth Day Angels Encourage Everyone to Pledge Their Act of Green
Vancouver, Canada: April 16, 2013 – Absolute® Software Corporation (TSX: ABT), the industry standard for persistent endpoint security and management solutions for computers, laptops and ultra-portable devices, today announced the launch of the Earth Day Angels Campaign in support of A Billion Acts of Green®. A Billion Acts of Green is a simple project with a big goal – to encourage everyone to pledge to make one green change in their lives.
Led by Absolute Software employees, the Absolute Earth Day Angels campaign ends on Earth Day, on April 22nd, 2013. People from around the world are invited to pledge an act of green and share it online. Absolute Software will donate one dollar* to the Earth Day Network for every pledge shared on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube or the Absolute InTelligence Blog. Absolute Software will up the ante and donate 10 dollars* for every person that watches the Ask Absolute: What is Power Management? video, an overview of how businesses today can lower energy consumption.
Absolute Software makes it easy for customers to deliver an act of green everyday with power management technology. Organizations can save money and conserve natural resources by implementing a power management policy so that computers are only using energy when they’re in use. Bensalem Township School District implemented Absolute Manage on 2,600 computers and was able to cut energy consumption by 79 percent, saving an estimated $53,000 a year.
“I am excited to see the launch of the A Billion Acts of Green Campaign at Absolute Software. We have many thoughtful, environmentally-aware employees and I am impressed with all our Earth Day Angels. From recycling, to buying more locally-made products, it is easy to make one green change in our lives,” said Errol Olsen, CFO at Absolute Software, “Along with many of my colleagues, I am committed to making one small change to help the Earth.”
