Endpoint Resilience leader adds industry veterans from RSA, HP and Boeing to join Leadership team, including Sandra Toms, former head of RSA Conference, as CMO
VANCOUVER, British Columbia – June 5, 2019 – Absolute (TSX: ABT), the leader in endpoint resilience, today announced the appointment of three key executives to its leadership team. Sandra Toms joins the team as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Karen Reynolds joins as Chief Communications Officer (CCO), and the company welcomes John Robinson as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). The appointments coincide with a period of unprecedented need for endpoint visibility and control solutions to protect data and devices used by remote employees.
With more than two decades of experience, Sandra Toms joins Absolute as CMO, having most recently been at RSA Security, where she led and curated the RSA Conference, successfully increasing the global attendance from under 2,000 to nearly 50,000, and catapulting its success into the world’s premier cybersecurity event. Beginning in 2008, she also was selected to oversee RSA’s Corporate Communications engagement and strategy in order to refine thought leadership initiatives and leverage knowledge from her long-standing management of the RSA Conference and RSA’s strong customer brands. Toms’ reputation and commitment to continuous innovation and expertise in strategic marketing and communications is self-evident, as she is a leading voice in the security industry and is One of the Top 50 Women in Cybersecurity.
“I’ve spent the lion’s share of my professional journey sharing best practices in order to fight the good fight in cybersecurity, and I’ve watched as the industry has grown from being a small, niche market some twenty years ago, to becoming the most critical strategy that companies need to get right – or suffer catastrophic consequences,” said Toms. “The threat vector landscape is going through another wave of expansion, and as I’ve tracked Absolute, I am thrilled to join this team as I see our unique capabilities driving the necessary protection that organizations need to have, and am confident in our ability to drive growth, support our customers and be recognized as the industry leader.”
Karen Reynolds has joined Absolute as CCO, where she is responsible for driving excellence in the areas of public relations, investor relations, and employee communications. Reynolds has held senior roles in growth companies including HP, BMC Software, Centrify, and Good Technology (prior to its acquisition by Blackberry) and most recently worked with Andreessen-Horowitz startup People.ai. Karen is widely known in the industry for her drive and passion in building great teams, with whom she has crafted strategic narratives, and transformed smart executives into persuasive storytellers, ultimately accelerating executive and brand awareness.
As CHRO, John Robinson oversees all global human capital management, while driving a culture of high performance that inspires, activates and develops the company’s talent. John is a former U.S. Marine with a long and successful career in human resources, most recently at Tapestry Solutions, a software subsidiary of Boeing, where he was responsible for global HR strategy and execution in 11 countries. Prior to that, Robinson was the global HR director for a large division of the global engineering company, Black & Veatch.
“With our Resilience technology embedded in the BIOS of over half a billion devices, we have unique visibility into both the risk and the efficacy of enterprise security ecosystems. With the combination of innovation, execution and the world-class talent we have in place, Absolute is well poised for success,” said Christy Wyatt, Chief Executive Officer at Absolute. “I’m thrilled to welcome Sandra, Karen and John to my leadership team at a critical time in our history.”
