Vancouver, Canada: June 12, 2013 – Absolute® Software Corporation (TSX: ABT), the industry standard for persistent endpoint security and management solutions for computers, laptops and ultra-portable devices today announced the release of Absolute Manage® 6.3 with a variety of Mac enhancements.
With this latest release, customers will be able to manage both OS X Profiles as well as MCX (Managed Preference) settings on older Mac OS X computers. This will expand the profile-based management and configuration within Absolute Manage from mobile devices to Mac computers. In addition to creating profiles using Absolute Manage’s native profile editor, IT administrators will be able to import and modify OS X configuration profiles they may have already created outside of Absolute Manage.
Absolute Manage’s intelligent automation and proactive, policy-based management easily identifies what type of configuration profiles are supported, and automatically deploys them to individual computers or groups of computers. Absolute Manage 6.3 also includes expanded support for Samsung’s SAFE MDM functionality.
“Our customers rely on our technology to manage diverse enterprise deployments that include a variety of operating systems and form factors,” said Peter Frankl, Vice President, Lifecycle Management at Absolute Software. “Absolute Manage 6.3 represents our delivery of specific requests from our customers with deployments that include a range of Mac OS X computers. These new features reinforce the cross-platform capabilities of Absolute Manage, as well as our ability to partner with our customers to build meaningful features.”
