Security Awareness Program Tips

A recent study from Clearswift indicates a lack of employee training when it comes to IT policies, many employees only being trained once, with no updates as the security environment changes. On the heels of this release, therefore, is a timely release by SC Magazine of some security awareness training best practices.

  • Educate employees about IT security & why it's important - this enables employees to make decisions about security in new situations
  • Make sure employees have many access points to refer to for their training materials
  • Describe how employees can help the organization advance IT security
  • Train often

As was stated in the article, "most people make mistakes because they don't know what they are doing is wrong"... so, make training your priority this quarter!

And I think we should all make signs that say "Be nice to your laptop. Take it out to lunch.” :)
