IT's Mission Impossible

By: Absolute Team | 12/6/2013

I recently wrote another topic on my Computerworld blog, People, Process and IT, which covers the pressure placed on the modern IT service desk. "IT's mission impossible: more with less," looks at the challenge of trying to meet growing end-user expectations in device support and services, paired with growing concerns over data security, all on a budget that is stretching, not growing, and the IT manager's job looks challenging, to say the least.

What I have to say is that this doesn't need to be mission impossible! In my post, I talk about how the right solutions and infrastructure can allow IT to do more with less. Want to stretch your dollar? These are the 6 tips I detail in my post:

  1. Share knowledge
  2. Self-serve
  3. Automate workflows
  4. Work green
  5. Opt for single-screen device management
  6. Choose a solution with room to grow
By following these tips, you may be able to stretch the almighty IT dollar in ways that even Tom Cruise could not. And I promise, you won't need to hang from a rope from the ceiling to make this possible!
