Absolute Software has once again been listed as a Visionary Vendor in the Client Management Tools Magic Quadrant (CMT MQ) released by Gartner, Inc. Solidifying our position in the market, we are one of a select few vendors who saw positive movement on the CMT MQ, moving higher in position and further to the right. The report lists Absolute Manage's greatest strength as "its breadth of device coverage, supporting Windows PCs, Mac OS X, iOS, Android and Windows Phone."
Absolute Software first made an appearance in the CMT MQ last year, listing us as a Visionary Vendor. The Magic Quadrant is released once a year by Gartner analysts, reflecting the following:
Absolute Software is listed as Visionary Vendor, which means:
"Visionaries have vision scores that reflect feature complete products, and they show technology leadership in providing some life cycle management functions that users have begun requesting, or that will have an impact during the next year or two (as discussed in the Completeness of Vision section). A Visionary will have particular strengths in certain emerging areas (e.g., MDM, Mac management, appliances, SaaS, desktop virtualization), but may lack a fully mature life cycle management solution, global market presence or brand recognition."
In this iteration of the CMT MQ, Gartner considered the changes in client management tools in their ability to evolve to the market, focusing on the needs generated by consumerization, desktop virtualization and the need to improve efficiency and cost. Though Gartner still considers MDM a separate market, the report makes it clear that organizations are increasingly looking for a single vendor and platform for all their devices. Absolute Manage meets those criteria, landing it the coveted Visionary Vendor placement.
