Absolute Announces New Capabilities with its Latest Platform Release to Ensure Secure, Compliant Endpoints

With all the uncertainty these days, one thing is for sure: the challenges that IT and Security organizations face are getting tougher. You can’t read a news article without getting alerted to the latest data breach that cost companies millions of dollars in lost revenue, additional security expenses, public relations costs, regulatory fines, and legal fees. The financial and revenue impact of a security breach continues to be staggering. According to a study conducted by the Ponemon Institute, the global average cost of a data breach was $3.92 million in 2020, 1.6% higher than in 2019. With this latest release, Absolute is equipping IT and Security teams with enterprise-grade solutions that bolster the security stance of their organizations by focusing on one of the most essential elements in cybersecurity defense: endpoint compliance.

At a high level, this new release provides IT and Security teams with several new capabilities including: automated generation and sharing of reports to plan for device maintenance and report on compliance; the ability to precisely locate where and understand why each critical app is failing, as well as make modern endpoint protection apps self-healing; and the ability to track, fine-tune, cancel, and confirm the success of remedial actions at scale.

Let’s take a more in-depth look at these new enterprise features: 

  • Automatically generate scheduled reports with always-accurate intelligence collected by Absolute. This information can be periodically and easily shared by email with your team to plan for appropriate device interventions to address device issues. This feature is especially important to help you report on compliance or progress on your organization’s strategic initiatives.
  • Pinpoint and understand why critical apps fail, as well the vital ability to self-heal modern apps. When reporting on application health is turned on, Absolute’s enhanced Application Health widget will automatically generate pre-filtered reports tailored for your specific needs.
  • Instantly monitor any number of missing devices: A single-step, one-click upload enables IT to flag any number of devices as missing (by uploading a single file with device serial numbers, for example), as well as generate real-time email alerts if any of those devices connect to the internet again to decide the best course of action.
  • Track and fine-tune the execution of custom workflows and remedial actions: Absolute’s new Action History allows IT and Security professionals to track the status of query and remediation scripts across large groups of devices from a single monitoring center - allowing them to confirm the successful execution of a script or a device wipe request, and fine-tune, relaunch or cancel remedial actions if needed.

The Absolute product team continues to get requests to grow its library of third-party applications supported by Absolute’s Application Persistence service. For years, IT and Security professionals have recognized that self-healing is one of the most compelling elements of Absolute’s rich value proposition. With today’s release, Absolute is answering that call with providing support for updated versions of VMware Carbon Black Cloud and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator. With this update, Absolute customers can now proactively monitor the cyber health of more than 40 of the world’s leading endpoint controls.
