Omdia Identifies Absolute Software as Endpoint Security ‘Vendor to Watch’

Cyberthreats and compliance challenges are accelerating. The geopolitical environment is increasingly hostile. The work-from-anywhere trend doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. These factors and others are creating new challenges for enterprises that are trying to mitigate heightened risk that traditional security tools are not designed to deal with.

To help global security and risk professionals make smarter decisions about how to defend their organizations against cyberattacks, Omdia, a leading provider of global research that helps enterprises navigate the technology ecosystem, recently released its Market Radar for Endpoint Security Platforms, 2022. In addition to identifying the latest innovations used to defend edge environments against threat actors, this definitive guide also profiles providers delivering capabilities that public and private sector organizations can use to address their unique requirements.

Absolute Software was pleased to be added to the ‘Vendors to Watch” section, where we are highlighted for our ability to ensure resilience for device fleets and the critical endpoint security applications deployed across them. In the report, the Absolute Secure Endpoint portfolio is called out for features and benefits that include:

  • Visibility: This tracks, alerts, and reports on hardware attributes, measures device usage and interaction, monitors installed software, assesses security posture, and monitors the health of critical applications.
  • Control: In addition to the above, this offers geofencing and unauthorized device
movement detection, remote wiping or freezing of devices, and selective deletion of files or full
device wipe. There is a mobile app (for Android and iOS) for checking the status of critical security controls and freezing access for any device reported as lost or stolen. It also has remote firmware protection of supervisor passwords for certain Lenovo devices.
  • Resilience: This adds self-healing for critical applications, remote querying, and
remediation across whole fleets of devices as well as investigation and recovery of stolen devices in collaboration with law enforcement, web usage monitoring, and scanning for sensitive information both on devices and when synced to cloud storage.

Absolute software is now embedded in more than 600 million devices and is the only intelligent security solutions provider delivering visibility and control capabilities to endpoints, applications, and network connections. When our unique self-healing capability is combined with the power of Absolute Secure Endpoint and Absolute Secure Access, organizations not only protect devices, data, and users alongside an optimal remote user experience, but also ensure that critical security controls operate at maximum run time.
