The National Security Agency (NSA) is launching a new program called "Perfect Citizen" aimed at assessing cyberattack vulnerabilities on government agencies and private companies that run critical infrastructure.
The Perfect Citizen program first phase of the project is being put in place by Raytheon. The NSA is, at this point, only confirming the existence of the project, saying the program is "purely a vulnerabilities-assessment and capabilities-development contract." Early reports had the program pegged as one that would use sensors to detect attacks.
As the NSA states, the program will help the Agency better "understand the threats to national security networks," as a research and engineering effort. It will be interesting to see how this program develops.
