Lincoln Public School Saves IT Hours with Absolute Service & Absolute Manage

In our latest customer video, Kirk Langer, Director of Technology at Lincoln Public Schools talks about the benefits of integrated asset management and IT service management. His team works on-the-go, creating efficiencies by managing devices and servicing end users using both Absolute Manage and Absolute Service.

Lincoln Public Schools in Nebraska provides education to over 39,000 students across 38 elementary schools, 11 middle schools, 6 high schools, and several specialized educational centers and programs. The district supports over 7,500 staff members and over 20,000 devices.

The small team of IT technicians servicing Lincoln Public Schools spend a lot of time running around. Each technician has an iPad and a smartphone, each equipped with the Absolute Service app. Using the Absolute Service app, technicians can access and update their tickets wherever they are. A lot of service requests pop up at the last minute, when a technician is at a school, so technicians also enter tickets on the fly and all the data can be quantified to spot trends and get more help, if the data supports that.

Using Absolute Manage, in conjunction with Absolute Service, allows the IT team to manage devices in conjunction with the IT service management. With such a large district, the IT team is able to gain great efficiencies from this unification of solutions.
