We recently put together a new case study highlighting how hybris uses a combination of Absolute Software solutions to protect their devices and data, and to verify that devices have the necessary software updates so credit card transactions are securely completed.
hybris is a Munich-based e-commerce company with more than 400 customers worldwide, employing roughly 1,600 people across its 7 worldwide offices. Business travel is commonplace for almost every hybris employee, but the growing use of mobile devices carrying sensitive data created both security and management issues.
"Sensitive information is stored on these devices and we want to prevent them from getting into the wrong hands. The value of the data, not the device is the priority for us." - Klaus Wiest, Manager of the Client System Group
With such a mobile workforce, data and theft protection are a must for hybris. In addition to securing data, hybris also wanted a better way to manage devices without impacting employee productivity. In steps a combination of two solutions, Absolute Computrace and Absolute Manage.
Absolute Computrace allows hybris to persistently track and secure all of their endpoints within a single cloud-based console. Since hybris devices may contain sensitive information, the ability to secure - and prove - endpoint IT compliance processes are implemented and enforced is invaluable. By combining the endpoint security of Computrace with the endpoint management of Absolute Manage, hybris is able to easily manage the software updates on devices necessary to prove to auditors that credit card transactions are secure.
