Premiere Global Services, Inc. (PGi) is a global leader in virtual meetings, providing a cloud-based multi-point, real-time virtual collaboration solution for desktops, tablets and mobile devices. In the last five years, PGi has hosted nearly 1 billion people from 137 countries in more than 200 million meetings.
The PGi office in Cork, Ireland is headquarters for the company’s EMEA operations, which also includes India. The 150 sales staff for this region use a fleet of more than 600 mobile devices (400 laptops, 130 iPads, 70 iPhones, a few Android smartphones). PGi used a spreadsheet to manage mobile devices, which was not ideal.
Corporate-owned devices used in the field contained potentially sensitive data that was frequently on the move over a huge geographical area. Once deployed it was likely that as many as 75% of mobile devices would never return to head office, requiring remote management for the entire lifecycle of the device. Even the reassignment of a device to a new employee may require remote interaction, without IT physically touching the device.
PGi chose Absolute to protect their devices and sensitive corporate data, which was quite a step up from a spreadsheet. PGi chose Absolute for asset management and device security, noting it was "the best product on the market," allowing control over software installation, tracking and wiping of data on lost or stolen laptops.
