Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign Challenge

By: Absolute Team | 4/14/2010

The Department of Homeland Security has put together a National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign Challenge. This challenge is one of the ways the DHS, along with organizations, has come up with to help find ways to raise public awareness of cybersecurity through the National Cyber Security Alliance.

The competition will be open to everyone to come up with unique ideas on campaigns that could teach people about cybersecurity; the best ideas will be shared publicly (hopefully with a good marketing push!). They are primarily targeting companies - or business people - to take this challenge.

The key areas they are looking for in the challenge are:

  • Teamwork
  • Ability to quantify the distribution method
  • Ability to quantify the receipt of message
  • Solution may under no circumstance create spam
  • Use of Web 2.0 Technology
  • Feedback mechanism
  • List building
  • Privacy protection
  • Repeatability
  • Transparency
  • Message
