Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute Saves $1000 Each Month with Absolute Manage

By: Absolute Team | 2/7/2014

We recently put together a new case study highlighting how Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute continues to see more value out of Absolute Manage over time, from power savings to the many management perks.

The Challenge at CHORI

Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI) is a non-profit biomedical research institute affiliated with the Chrildren's Hospital and Research Center in Okland. CHORI's facility features 8 state-of-the-art research centres with more than 350 scientists now conducting research on cancer, critical care, genetics and more. These scientists use a variety of devices - desktops in Windows and Mac, laptops, iOS and Android devices - but as the number of devices grew, consistent management and reporting on permissions, inventories, serial numbers, warranties and software updates became… "hit and miss."

The Solution: Absolute Manage

After being recommended to Absolute Software, Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute began testing on several options, quickly noticing Absolute Manage was the "better tool" for their job, particularly with the cost savings attributed to our power management features.

"We are getting more and more out of Absolute Manage all the time. First, power savings, next the management pieces - especially for tracking warranty info and producing reports. We use the remote control features all the time. My co-workers say: 'Best purchase we’ve ever made'. I keep discovering more ways to use Absolute Manage to do tasks in less time." - Ben Hanes, Senior IT Manager, CHORI

To find out how CHORI uses Absolute Manage to save over $1000 a month in power savings, improve tracking and save money through efficient deployment, check out the case study here.
