Canary Wharf Employees Questioned on Mobile Device Policy

By: Absolute Team | 12/18/2012

With a third of UK businesses admitting to having no enforceable policy in place to deal with mobile devices in the workplace (see our study), Absolute Software asked workers in London's capital of commerce, Canary Wharf, how their employers deal with mobile security -- and the consequences if these policies are broken.

As these workers illustrate, there is a lot of confusion about mobile security in the workplace. Some employees think they have rein while others know there are policies and technologies in place, though they don't understand them or they "weren't explained" to them. The one policy that most employees seem to know about is the repercussion of losing a phone - the importance of wiping it and how it could lead to being fired.
