2012 Security Predictions: Mobile & Social Networking

With 2012 fast approaching, it's the time of year when we begin to see security professionals predict some of the trends we may see happening within IT security. CSO Online starts off with their own predictions of Rising Danger in 2012, talking in particular about the changing security dynamics brought on by mobile devices and social networks.

2011 statistics have seen a rise in malware spreading on phones and tablets (22% over 2010), and this trend is likely to continue. in particular, Android may continue to reign as the most attacked mobile operating platform. Mobile malware often comes via app stores or third-party app directories, though additional security threats come from using Wi-Fi and in physical security.
