Jo-Ann Smith, Absolute’s director of technology risk management & data privacy, took part in a panel presentation on Cybersecurity and Risk in advance of the Financial Women’s Association (FWA) 2017 National Conference later this year. Smith was among 20 delegates who were invited to take part in discussions on cybersecurity.
She shared a snapshot of cybersecurity and risk specific to British Columbia, as well as a broader view of hot topics -- from the Internet of Things (IoT) to the far-reaching impact of digital technology on security and privacy.
Chris Covell, Absolute's CIO, joined the Oregon chapter of InfraGard this week for an in-depth discussion on a CIO’s perspective of the important role that information risk management plays in budgeting and executive decision-making.
Chris shared his perspective on how information security professionals can effectively connect and provide business value for executive teams, boards of directors, and external stakeholders.
Absolute was also in Orlando this week for Lenovo Accelerate 2017 -- the company's annual Channel Partner Forum. It was a great opportunity for us to connect with a longtime partner, see how we can add more value in the future, and check out new product offerings -- including the new ThinkPad laptops. Lenovo didn’t make any compromises when they designed their ThinkPad laptops, and that includes building Absolute technology right into the firmware of all ThinkPad laptops. It was a good week, and we're proud to be their partner.
