Absolute Manage Now Includes Self-Service Portal

Absolute Software announced the launch of an innovative self-service portal for end users. Absolute Manage 6.7.1, available today, includes an new self-service portal to save IT time and increase employee satisfaction.

The new self-service portal included in Absolute Manage will provide employees with a level of control over the devices they use at work. In the portal, employees can view device information and perform remote actions such as device passcode reset, displaying a message on a missing device, locking it, and wiping devices that are stolen.

The self-service portal will allow employees to access all of their devices - laptops, tablets and smartphones - even if they are personally-owned.

“The Absolute Manage self-service portal reduces the burden on IT, freeing them from simple tasks that can be easily resolved by the end user,” said Peter Frankl, VP & GM, Client Management Solutions, at Absolute Software. “By helping employees to help themselves IT can free up valuable time and redirect resources to deal with higher value IT projects.”

Also included in Absolute Manage 6.7.1 release is a new ‘Attention Mode’ feature, allowing IT to remotely freeze a device while simultaneously displaying a custom message. Integrating this new mode with Absolute Manage smart policies will give customers more actions to ensure device usage policies are in compliance.
