Absolute Software today announced that our persistence technology is now available in more Samsung Galaxy mobile devices, including the Galaxy S5, NotePRO and TabPRO. Following user installation and activation, Absolute Computrace and Absolute LoJack software agents can be installed to persistently track stolen devices;if efforts are made to remove it, the technology simply rebuilds itself. No other technology can do this.
In addition to KNOX, Samsung’s end-to-end secure mobile platform for enterprise users, Samsung enterprise users now benefit from Absolute persistence technology in a wider variety of devices. Providing organizations a trusted lifeline to their devices, Absolute Computrace customers can persistently track and secure all of their devices.
“This agreement initiates a closer alignment between Absolute Software and Samsung in addressing the growing importance of mobile device security for enterprises and consumers around the globe,” said Injong Rhee, Senior Vice President of KNOX Business, IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung is committed to ensuring the safety of our customers and with Absolute persistence technology, our customers and their sensitive data will be protected.”
IT administrators can remotely invoke security commands to protect data so they can ensure—and most importantly prove—that endpoint IT compliance processes are properly implemented and enforced. Customers can secure corporate data, safeguard against breaches, monitor device status, receive alerts and respond preemptively in case a device is deemed to be at risk.
If a protected Samsung Galaxy mobile device is stolen, the Absolute Investigations Team can perform a remote investigation and work with law enforcement to get the device back. Along with recovery, Absolute Computrace customers can remotely lock and locate stolen devices, with necessary compliance reports and certificates to prove that sensitive data was not accessed and was securely deleted.
Computrace is available for purchase on available Samsung Galaxy mobile devices, with a full list of supported devices here. Devices that support Absolute persistence can be viewed here.
