Security and Technology Industry Veteran to Lead Absolute in Mission to Enforce the Last Mile of Data & Device Protection for Digital Workforces
VANCOUVER, British Columbia — November 2, 2018 — Absolute (TSX: ABT), the endpoint visibility and control company, today announced the appointment of accomplished security and technology industry leader Christy Wyatt as CEO and member of the Board of Directors effective November 26, 2018. The move comes at a time of double-digit enterprise and government revenue growth, driven by a demand for endpoint visibility and control solutions to protect data and devices used by remote employees.
“There is no better leader to take the helm at Absolute as we address one of IT’s most challenging concerns — enforcing the last mile of data and device protection for digital workforces,” said Daniel Ryan, Chairman of the Board at Absolute. “Christy Wyatt knows exactly what our customers are up against and what it takes to address this challenge because she has the right industry experience, leadership skills and focus on delivering value to customers.”
“I am thrilled to join Absolute at this exciting time,” said Christy Wyatt, Chief Executive Officer of Absolute. “Enterprises have seen many failed strategies to protect data on the endpoint, but Absolute’s unique differentiation is its cloud-based platform that is anchored to technology embedded in device firmware. Absolute’s ability to extend highly resilient data and device protection beyond the corporate network, where it is needed the most, continues to deliver real customer value.”
Wyatt has a long history of scaling high-growth technology companies. Before joining Absolute, she served as CEO of Dtex Systems, a user behavior intelligence company that grew revenue by 321 percent last year. Prior to Dtex, she was Chairman, CEO and President of Good Technologies, the global leader in mobile security, where she led aggressive growth before the company was acquired by BlackBerry. Wyatt began her career as a software engineer and rose through the executive leadership ranks at Citigroup, Motorola, Apple, Palm and Sun Microsystems. She was named one of Inc. magazine’s Top 50 Women Entrepreneurs in America, CEO of the Year by the Information Security Global Excellence Awards, and one of Fierce Wireless’s Most Influential Women in Wireless.
Absolute empowers more than 12,000 customers worldwide to protect devices, data, applications, and users against theft or attack — both on and off the corporate network.
