In June 2007, Absolute conducted a survey of its customers. Over 400 respondents shared their opinions and experiences. Below are the complete results.

  • 16% have had Social Security Numbers stolen

10. If your company experiences a significant data security breach, what do you think the impact will be?

  • 64% believe a significant data security breach will result in loss of credibility
  • 57% are concerned with legal expenses
  • 40% believe it will cause damage to their brand image

11. How much do you think each incident of data breach could cost your company?

  • 16% believe it will cost $1 million or more

  • 22% believe it will cost around $10,000

12. Are you using asset tracking technology on all of your computers?

  • 16% have asset tracking technology installed on 100% of their computers
  • 64% have it installed on 50% or fewer of their computers
  • 40% have it installed on 20% or fewer of their computers
