Dell builds computers with our Computrace® Agent embedded in the firmware.  Once activated, the Agent in the firmware can survive operating system re-installations, hard drive reformats and even hard drive replacements. 

This level of persistence provides Dell customers with the means to manage, track, and - in the event of theft - recover their computer.
