Frequently Asked Questions

Strategy

How did Absolute arrive at the decision to divest the Absolute Manage and Absolute Service products?

This decision was made after significant consideration and was based on research we undertook that focused on the overall Absolute business strategy as well as our ongoing technology roadmap.

The rationale for this decision was to allow us to focus on our core information security business, Computrace, which today constitutes more than 95% of our customers. It will allow us to deliver greater value at a faster rate to market and enable us to expand and strengthen our market leadership in this important segment.

How does the announcement change Absolute’s go forward and sales strategies?

Similar to the efficiencies we will realize with our product development resources, our overall business strategy will benefit in a similar manner. With a more focused go-to-market approach, we can target regions, market segments, and prospect bases where the benefits of our endpoint security / data risk management technology resonate best. Rather than splitting our focus across three separate areas of business, we can dedicate all of our effort to what we do best.

Products and Technology

As a result of this announcement, will the pricing strategy for Absolute Computrace change?

We will continue to sell Computrace on the same terms as it’s sold today. In addition, we expect we will be able to provide additional value to our customers over an expedited timeline given the increased focus on our Computrace solution offering.

As a result of this announcement, will the pricing strategy for Absolute Manage and Absolute Service change?

No, there will be no price changes for these offerings.

Customers and Partner Support

What does this mean for Computrace customers & partners?

With the ability to focus resources and investments in our Computrace solution offering, we will be able to accelerate our technology roadmap, extend our unique persistence platform, and deliver additional value to our customers and partners.

What does this mean for Absolute Manage and Absolute Service customers & partners?

Effective immediately, management intends to operate Absolute Manage and Absolute Service as a separate business unit. Absolute remains committed to supporting these products and providing our customers and partners with continued best-in-class support and service.
