August 17, 2015

Vancouver, Canada: August 17, 2015– Absolute® Software Corporation (TSX:ABT), the industry standard for persistent endpoint security and data risk management solutions for computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones, today announced that Phil Gardner, Absolute’s chief technology officer, will transition to an advisory role.

Mr. Gardner has served as chief technology officer at Absolute since 1997 where he was responsible for creating and architecting Absolute’s unique Persistence technology and the SaaS platform that supports it.

“Phil Gardner is a true technology innovator who was instrumental in the design and implementation of our Persistence technology,” said Geoff Haydon, chief executive officer, Absolute. “Much of our success today is due in part to Phil’s vision and hard work.”

The transition plan for Mr. Gardner will continue through the end of the calendar year during which time knowledge transfer and other operational processes will be transitioned to the leadership team within the Product Development team at Absolute. In his new advisory role, Mr. Gardner will assume the title of Absolute Distinguished Fellow.

“We are building an outstanding team of people, with whom I will work closely, to provide guidance and training on the broad base of Absolute’s current and future intellectual property in support of our Persistence platform,” stated Mr. Gardner. “I also look forward to maintaining active relationships with our key OEM partners and customers as we continue to innovate and succeed in this core part of our business.

“We are very fortunate that Phil has agreed to extend his transition to support an adequate period of time for knowledge transfer. We will continue to rely on his leadership and expertise in these areas to assure Absolute’s ongoing success,” Mr. Haydon said. “On behalf of the Board, the Executive team, and everyone that works at Absolute, I’d like to thank Phil for his ongoing contribution. We are extremely pleased that we will continue to benefit from Phil’s experience and knowledge in an advisory capacity moving forward.”
