The most widely-recognized information security certification has been awarded to Absolute for its production hosting services
Vancouver, Canada: February 11, 2009 - Absolute® Software Corporation ("Absolute" or the "Company") (TSX: ABT), the leading provider of firmware-based, patented, computer theft recovery, data protection and secure IT asset management solutions announced today that as of December 12, 2008 it achieved the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001 certification for its production IT operations for customers.

ISO is the world's largest developer and creator of standards that specify worldwide requirements for products, services, processes, materials and systems. ISO 27001 is the international standard developed specifically for Information Security Management Systems ("ISMS"), requiring that a company uses a systematic approach to managing sensitive information and ensuring data security. Absolute's recent ISO 27001 certification by BSI Group recognizes the Company's implementation of an effective information security system that complies with one of the most stringent international standards.
ISO 27001 comprises 10 detailed control categories including: information security policy, security organization, asset classification controls, personnel security, physical security, communication management, access controls, system deployment, continuity planning and compliance.
