Intel® Anti-Theft Technology

If your computer is Intel Anti-Theft Technology enabled and you’ve activated our Computrace Agent, your computer is now protected with the most reliable and tamper-resistant combination of technologies available today.

Geotechnology

Many Computrace products provide geotechnology capabilities, including geolocation and geofencing. The following location technologies are supported:

  • Windows Location & Sensor API compatible location sensors (Windows 7 clients only)
  • Wi-Fi based geolocation
  • GPS based geolocation available with the following adapters:
    • Qualcomm UNDP-1 (Gobi 1000) mobile broadband adapter
    • Qualcomm 9202 mobile broadband adapter
    • Ericsson F3507g & F3607gw mobile broadband adapters
    • HP un2400 & un2420 mobile broadband adapters
    • Dell 5600 mobile broadband adapter

Real-Time Technology

If your computer is equipped with a supported mobile broadband adapter and meets the necessary criteria, you can send commands and take action almost immediately if you feel a computer is at risk. Real-time technology (RTT) allows you force a call to the device using SMS messages. If the computer has an internet connection, it will contact the Absolute Monitoring Center to receive instructions and take immediate action.

If your computer is RTT capable and it has Intel AT support, you can take action immediately without any internet connection. Watch the Data Delete in real-time viewlet and learn more about Real-time Technology.
