ComputracePlus

Computrace®Plus provides Computer Theft Recovery, Data Protection and basic Secure Asset Tracking™ reports. ComputracePlus enables IT professionals to track their organization’s computer assets, recover lost or stolen machines and remotely wipe sensitive data if a computer is lost, stolen or nearing the end of its lifecycle.

ComputracePlus enables you to:

  • Track lost or stolen computers
  • Manage computing assets & inventory
  • Deter computer theft
  • Remotely delete data

Deter Theft and Recover Stolen Computers

ComputracePlus lets you efficiently monitor who is using your computers, what hardware changes they make, and where your laptops are located. If a computer protected by ComputracePlus is stolen, Absolute Software’s Recovery Team will work with local law enforcement agencies to locate and recover the machine.

Increase Visibility With Secure Asset Tracking

Traditional asset management systems can lose track of assets like laptops when they disconnect from the LAN or drift to unknown locations. ComputracePlus provides IT Managers with access to up to date, detailed reports for every computer with an Internet connection.

  • Track machines as they change hands or move around the organization
  • Know where leased computers are when they are due back
  • Track computer hardware to find missing RAM or swapped components
  • Use reports to plan for company-wide upgrades, migrations and machine retirement

The patented Computrace technology automatically gathers data and alerts you via email when you need to be concerned. If you already have an ITAM (Information Technology Asset Management) system in place, Absolute Software can extend your reach to your entire inventory of machines. By adding visibility to the 40% of computers that go unseen by traditional ITAM systems, ComputracePlus can take your asset management program one step further.

Avoid Costly Penalties – Ensure Regulatory Compliance

Most government legislation is designed to protect customers’ privacy rights or place tighter controls on data and reporting. ComputracePlus helps with regulatory compliance by protecting data, tracking hardware and users, providing auditing capabilities and acting as a historical record of your computer assets and how they are being used. In cases where machines are stolen containing sensitive information, an optional Data Delete function can be used to remotely wipe machines using a U.S. Department of Defense-approved algorithm.

Protecting Data Is Not An Option – It is Mandatory

IT departments getting by with minimal compliance protection expose themselves to unnecessary risks and potential liability. Regulations vary by geographical location and sector, but can include:

USA EMEA
Sarbanes-Oxley
Gramm-Leach-Bliley
HIPAA
FERPA
Title One
California Senate Bill 1386
Basel I & II
Data Protection Act
Freedom of Information Act

Tackle PC Drift & Loss

With typical asset tracking systems, an average of 10-15% of assets “drift” from view – into other departments, contractors’ offices, or unauthorized locations. ComputracePlus is different. With ComputracePlus, the Computrace agent installed within the BIOS of the laptop or desktop computer reports changes in asset information on a daily basis regardless of its location, allowing IT departments to centrally manage their entire computer population, including remote and mobile assets. The product gives staff visibility into 100% of their connected computer assets, including the 40% of hard to locate assets that Gartner Group says are missed by conventional IT asset management tools.
