Computrace Technology

The Computrace® Agent by Absolute® Software is a small software client that is embedded into the BIOS firmware of a computer at the factory.  Or you can easily install it onto the hard drive of a computer.

The Agent in your computer maintains daily contact with the Absolute Monitoring Center so you can manage your IT assets on or off your company network - knowing where they are, who's using them, and what types of software and other applications reside on them.

If you report a stolen computer, Agent contact with the Monitoring Center will increase to every 15 minutes.  Increased contact allows us to obtain specific details like the physical location of your computer, any activity that has occurred post-theft, and other important information that will aid us in working with local police agencies to catch the thief and return your property to you. Our Theft Recovery Team can then act as your managed recovery service Laptop Retriever®

Regardless of recovery status, you can remotely delete data to remove some or all of the information stored on your device so that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands.  Remote data delete provides you with the means to comply with government and corporate regulations.  The audit reports generated after a data delete provide you with proof of your compliance.
