Due to very high growth and an increase in it’s business, Absolute Software is looking for a Developer, Professional Services.
Based in our Corporate Headquarters in Vancouver, BC, as a Developer, you will report to the Director, Professional Services and are responsible for, but not limited to:
- Selecting appropriate technologies for services development work
- Assisting with operational and technical requirements for custom applications work for Absolute’s customers
- Developing integration applications, to import and export data between Absolute’s hosted production databases and remote customer systems
- Developing custom applications to fulfill ad-hoc requirements on customer projects
- Building reports
- Carrying out functional, performance and integration testing of custom development work
- Documenting technical work according to standards
- Following team operational procedures, including time-reporting, document management administration, etc.
- Participation in customer facing requirements gathering sessions
- Estimation of project effort
- Contribution to Absolute’s corporate knowledge and best practices by creating or enhancing documentation and processes
Required Skills, Education or Experience:
- Strong Visual Basic and or C# skills required.
- Experience with .NET and web services development required.
- Solid knowledge of database design and basic management required.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server platform and tools required.
- Technical troubleshooting and issue documentation skills required.
- Familiarity with operating systems, firewalls, anti-virus and other security products required.
- Experience with reporting packages required, such as Microsoft Reporting Services required.
- Broad Internet knowledge required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial high-tech environment required.
- Knowledge of IT Asset Management practices a plus.
- Excellent English communication skills - verbal and written is a must.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial high-tech environment.
- Microsoft MCSD preferred.
Education
- Computer Science Degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience
